On our way to Cape Town

by sandy on April 4, 2010

Our itinerary is so full, hectic and back to back, it is far more difficult than I imagined to find the time to write these posts and to beg internet connections to post them. So we have decided to keep the in-depth posts for our return journey and also for the weeks after our return when we have had sufficient time to absorb all we have learned and work out how it affects KasCare and knit-a-square.

We have just met up with Charmian, Zanny and Ronda’s middle sister, her daugher, Sophie and youngest grand-daughter, Briony who have flown in from the UK.

Then the 11 of us will catch the overnight train which travels first through Soweto and then on to the Free State and on through the Karoo deserts, the lush valleys of Paarl and Stellenbosch to Cape Town arriving in the afternoon on Easter Monday. There will be neither power or the internet, so I will not be able to post again until Tuesday.

There is much to tell about the orphans. We have asked questions wherever we have gone from all walks of life in South Africa, and I look forward to passing on these thoughts and opinions as they formulate in the next few weeks.

I was so excited to see about up to 50 responses this morning to our appeal. I am certain there will be more in the coming days. Our heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the children we seek to help. Sandy

Sandy,
You’ve kept us well informed and I thank you for that. It’s so wonderful to see first hand what you are seeing. You’ve posted more often than I thought you may be able to. Can’t wait to hear more about the trip when you’ve had some time back at home to recover and digest it all.

Happy Easter!
